About Karen

As a retired pianist, both teacher (where my Psychology degree came in handy!) and composer, the creative outlet that has long been a part of my world continues to be nurtured and fulfilled by my writing. 

 The pieces I share with you here detail my experiences not only as woman, daughter, wife and mother, but how others define me in relation to those titles. And their influences on how I define myself. "Writer" means putting my work out into the world, connecting with a wider community. How will that community define me? Perhaps inspiration for another piece. 

 To explore who I am, to live fully, to evolve, to redefine myself, the colour purple; this is what inspires me. Learning is what motivates me. Connection is what I strive for.
