Pivoting after a thirty-year career, Karen’s music studio-turned-writing sanctuary continues to be a creative space for her art and her voice; she’s still weaving melodies, just with a different medium. In addition to longlisting in multiple international awards and contests, Karen is the winner of Creative Nonfiction Collective’s 2025 CNF Contest (pushcart nominated), a Fiddlehead 2025 Creative Nonfiction Contest finalist, and a 2025 International Amy MacRae Award finalist.
